Compare the usable pocket space, heel retention and comfort when your ankle moves. A large or stiff blade is not automatically a useful upgrade: consider what you already kick comfortably and ask an instructor for feedback. Include the fin’s overall dimensions when planning your bag. Check whether replacement straps or buckles are obtainable for the exact model. If an online title combines scuba, snorkelling and freediving, examine the actual design rather than assuming those uses are interchangeable.

Start with the shape of your face, rather than the appearance of the frame. Notice pressure at the bridge of your nose and where the skirt meets your upper lip. A very tight strap should not be the solution to a poor seal. Compare whether you can comfortably reach the nose pocket with the gloves you use. If you need prescription lenses, check the exact model and available powers before buying; visually similar masks may accept different lens systems.
